What are the torque specs on the action screws for my chassis?

For MDT centerfire chassis systems, the torque spec is 60 - 65-inch pounds on the front and rear.

For MDT rimfire chassis systems, you will need to use the rifle manufactures torque specs.

  • So this is 100% the correct information? I've heard people who've contacted MDT and been told to use the 60-65 in-lb setting on rimfire actions. I have a 10/22 in the Oryx chassis and trying to find out if I should be using the factory specs or the 60 in-lb spec mentioned everywhere else.

  • With Rimfire actions, you will want to follow your factory torque specs, or you can use 15-45 inch pounds.
